Nick and his wife Sara founded Music Greenhouse over three years ago. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Worship Leadership, from Oral Roberts University. He has led worship and played guitar with multiple worship teams since 1999. He teaches group voice classes at Turning Pointe School of Dance and coaches voice for the lead roles for Starz Theater Company. He recently sang and played acoustic guitar for Anthony Turner album, "The Sound of a City." He previously taught voice lessons for the New Life School of Worship. He is passionate about raising up worshipers of all ages and helping his students find their voice!
Jessie Gingrich has been playing piano since she was 8. After playing classical piano for about 8 years, she began to explore the world of worship music, chord charts and improvisation. She went on to lead worship for New Life Church and with Desperation Band for several years, and now leads worship at Sanctuary Church. She's passionate about training up the next generation of musicians and worship leaders.
Evan Clay has been playing drums since he was 9 and piano since he was 6. He loves serving his Redemption Hill Church in Colorado Springs by playing in the band and serving on the media team. He also enjoys recording music at his buddy's home studio, dubbed The Blue House. When not playing music, he can be found studying Marketing online at CCU, playing disc golf, enjoying a Formula 1 grand prix, or anything Star Wars.
Angela Purdy is a Music Greenhouse Parent. She is mom to 6, a foster parent and homeschools full time. She has a degree in history and political science and teaches high school history at her children's homeschool CO-OP. Angela has a love for music and her children study piano and voice. She is passionate about kids and making schedules run well.
Thea Gilliland has been playing guitar since she was 14 and has been playing on her church worship team since then. She has spent some time leading worship solo and with a band. She started with basic acoustic guitar and recently has focused on more theory and improvisation with the help of teachers, worship leaders, and a big stack of books. She has been teaching guitar for the last 6 years. She loves to worship God and instill that love of worship in others!
Acoustic Guitar/Electric Guitar
Micah Basham was first introduced to guitar through his online high school and soon knew is was something he wanted to continue for life. Over the last several years, he has continued learning through online means, and lessons from friends and mentors.
He currently plays guitar for Red Rock church with both the student and adult ministry, and coaches others on worship guitar playing. He loves all types of music, but tends to lean towards a rock/blues approach to electric. He also loves teaching acoustic guitar!
Zach was born in Upstate New York where he has been a part of music ministry his entire life. He grew up in the church, and from a young age he studied drums, percussion and singing. After high school he traveled the country as a drummer putting on worship events with an organization called Servants of the Call. He then returned home where he and some close friends formed the ministry 11th Hour Live Music Inc. They brought the gospel through original music and worship to areas across the North East. In 2014 Zach and his family moved to Colorado and joined North Springs Alliance Church, where he is now the Interim Worship Leader since August of 2018. He leads from guitar and continues to enjoy teaching and playing drums.
Maren was born and raised in CA, living in both northern and southern CA. She worked in the Entertainment Department at Disneyland for 6 years both as a performer and in Stage Management. She has a degree in Music and Communication from The Master’s University with a dual emphasis in Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts. Her musical career began at a very young age, performing in children’s theatre from age 2. She has been in numerous choirs and has a passion for both music and theatre. At the end of 2015 she moved to CO with her husband, and 4 children. She currently substitute teaches for the theatre and voice classes at Turning Pointe School of Dance, and coaches voice for their advanced theatre classes.
Sara Michalski studied music at Oral Roberts University and Nazarene Bible College. She has played classical piano since childhood, and began leading worship and playing keyboards for worship in her teens. She taught private piano for the New Life School of Worship for 9 years, and is the author of Keys in Worship - a curriculum to teach worship-style piano. Sara recently sang and played keys for Anthony Turner's album, "The Sound of a City." She lead worship weekly for Arise Women's Gathering.
Seth Putnam was raised in a musical family that embraced notonly the love for music, but the passion to teach it. Having been heavily influenced by church and jazz music, Seth received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 2000. There he received a degree in Music Education and has held many different teaching positions throughout the years. He currently serves on staff at New Life Church as a worship pastor and can be found pouring into the lives of those wanting to grow in worship and music.
Aaron recently moved to Colorado Springs from Atlanta, GA where he worked with The Salvation Army as a creative arts teacher and worship leader for 10 years. He recently released a 7-song worship EP of original songs and arrangements titled, "In Victory." His musical style is a contemporary / gospel with an island influence by way of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He is currently leading worship at WorshipMob in Colorado Springs. He is passionate about helping others develop their creative gifts.
Children's Music - MusikGarten Classes
Beth has taught children's music programs for over 13 years. She has been a foster parent and is a mother of five including two adopted children, and has four grandchildren. She is passionate about instilling the love of music and learning in our young children. She is a graduate of Colorado Christian University
Emma began playing music when she was about 7. Her first instrument was piano but after trying guitar she found her passion! She has played guitar for 7 years and has had many opportunities to use her talent, like playing her guitar on two missions trips and playing on a Worship team for several years. She loves music and its therapeutic values. Emma hopes that by teaching music, others will be impacted by experiencing music. She believes that Jesus can be taught andshown through music, and that is her ultimate goal as a music teacher!
Traditional Piano/Modern Piano
Melissa has been playing music since she was 10. She is an elementary education teacher who is at home with her two kids. In many ways, piano has become the cornerstone of her life. The connection between striking the keys and worshipping God have become so intertwined that when she finally got her piano back into her house, she felt like a part of her was finally home. Her desire is to impart this love for music, piano, and worshipping God to your children. She loves to see the look of confidence when someone plays the right note, masters a difficult part, or simply worships his or her Creator through music.
Traditional/Modern/Jazz/Blues Piano Bass
Edward has been playing bass and piano since he was 13. After studying Jazz Piano at UNC in Greeley, he returned to Colorado Springs where he teaches at PPCC in the music department and co-leads the Crossroads Praise Band at First United Methodist Church. Through his experience playing traditional & contemporary worship music and jazz, it is his goal to inspire the new generation of young pianists by infusing the two genres of music together.
Upright/Electric Bass/Acoustic Guitar
Jon Sandeen’s love for music began over 20 years when he first picked up the upright bass for the first time. Since then he attended University of Northern Colorado and McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, Minnesota as a bass performance major and Music Theory Tutor. He has worked as a session player and in live bands in almost every genre of music. Eventually picking up the acoustic guitar, Jon has been playing in worship bands and teaching lessons for the last 10 years. Jon has also been a worship leader for several youth and college ministries and currently volunteers in the worship band at his church.
